The Passenger Rollingstock and Signalling (PRS) Branch is delivering and managing rollingstock and signalling projects that are innovative, integrated and accessible to meet the growing demand for rail services in South East Queensland.
Key responsibilitiesSome of your responsibilities will include:
Actively deliver a range of procurement activities to support the day-to-day operations and outcomes for the PRS Branch, to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures as directed.Lead low/medium risk procurements and assist the procurement team with higher risk processes.
Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with departmental policies and procedures to meet business needs and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.Provide accurate and timely procurement advice and information in alignment with departmental business and governance framework.Prepare written advice and provide input into various correspondence, briefs, and reports relating to PRS Branch procurement activities to ensure successful business outcomes.Contribute to maintenance of procurement systems integrity and accuracy of financial and procurement records and internal controls within the Branch.Work with business stakeholders to support the provision of accurate advice and gaining of knowledge to refine local business processes and practices for continuous improvement to manage risk and deliver value for money.This position reports to the Principal Advisor (Procurement) and has no direct reports.
Requirements of the roleWhile there are no mandatory requirements for this role the following would be considered highly desirable:
Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or accounts payable.Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes and understanding procurement policies and work instructions.Intermediate to advanced ability to use a broad range of software applications and spreadsheeting tools.Effective communication skills and understanding stakeholder needs to strengthen stakeholder relationships.The ability to work in a team environment to achieve a common goal, brainstorm new ideas and share knowledge and learnings.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
