We work with emergency services and telecommunications carriers to protect communications assets during emergencies and natural disasters. NSWTA is a delivery agency with responsibility for over $1.5 billion in key NSW Government projects that connect communities and support emergency services. We lead and coordinate whole-of-government connectivity strategy to bridge the digital divide and help keep people and places safe.
About the team The Ministerial and Parliamentary Services team provides executive, ministerial, cabinet and parliamentary support to NSW Telco Authority. The team prepares specialist advice and is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end management of parliamentary and ministerial products such as briefing notes, House Folder Notes, Budget Estimates Notes and Questions on Notice, as well as preparing a range of board and committee papers.
Your day-to-day: Developing simple, easy to read Executive and Ministerial briefings and correspondence from technical, telecommunications information.Coordinating feedback for NSW Government Cabinet submissions ensuring the Authority's all-of-government connectivity role and any relevant circulars is reflected in the feedback.Managing the eApprovals dashboard and provision of eApprovals support and training across the organisation as well as overseeing a shared mailbox, ensuring effective management of emerging and urgent priorities.Drafting, reviewing and coordinating technical telecommunications content for Parliamentary products such as Budget Estimates Notes, House Folder Notes, QONs, speeches and Parliamentary Inquiries.Coordinating papers for the Department's Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) Board of Commissioners, and, when required, the NSW Government Telecommunications Authority Advisory Board, including secretariat support for appointments, induction and remuneration.Assisting with the coordination of the agency's Annual Report and Corporate Plan.To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: An extensive understanding of P25 radio networks, mobile broadband and satellite technologies.Experience working in a fast-paced environment, responding to urgent requests that require the immediate distillation of technical information relating to telecommunications, connectivity and emerging technology into simple language.Experience in undertaking Secretariat and governance functions for NSW Boards and Committees.Proven experience using eApprovals, TRIM and SAP and knowledge of Altus and CRM.Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and deliver high quality work within a deadline driven environment with competing and changing priorities.Strong writing skills for an external audience with demonstrated ability to translate complex and technical information into plain English is an essential requirement.Experience writing ministerial correspondence and advice, briefing notes and parliamentary products from technical documents.Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure deliverables are met within set timeframes.What we need from you: An up-to-date CV and a brief cover letter outlining how your skills and experience are aligned to the role.
