Reporting to the Supervisor Hydrogeology, this role will assist the site-based Hydrogeology team in the planning and execution of drilling, test pumping, earthworks, and monitoring activities.Water management and hydrogeology at Roy Hill is complex and challenging offering a destination for those looking to expand their knowledge and technical experience in the field of hydrogeology. Be exposed to dynamic dewatering challenges, large scale managed aquifer recharge schemes, confined aquifers, and a range of groundwater qualities.DutiesDevelop and maintain the earthworks, drilling, and test pumping scheduleEnsure required permits are obtained to enable drill pad preparation, access track clearing and earthworksWork with the environmental team on the release of ground disturbance permits (GDPs)Utilise SAP to manage the issue of purchase requisitions and orders for contractors, materials, consumables and instrumentsOversee and maintain the storage of required materials, consumables and instrumentsManage the installation and maintenance of logging and telemetry systemsSkills and experienceAbility to work unsupervised in a remote mining environmentPrior experience working in a field assistant role will be beneficialExperience supervising drilling and test pumping program contractorsExperience with GIS software required - experience with remote telemetry monitoring systems for groundwater bores and VWPs beneficialAbility to build collaborative relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholdersMine FacilitiesModern, comfortable camp accommodationHigh quality gourmet food options (vegan, gluten free and healthy options)Large fully equipped gym facility, as well as a gym specifically for femalesHeated outdoor swimming poolBeach Volleyball court and Golf simulatorsVillage shop and extensive supporting amenitiesSWIFT in-room entertainment with comprehensive content and own-device casting capabilityActive social club with community events and activities for employeesLifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your familyAbout Roy HillRoy Hill is a world class mining company, leading the way through innovative, integrated mining rail and port operations, to export iron ore safely and efficiently from West Australia's Pilbara region.We are a company where people matter.
