5/2–4/3 10-hour day or 8/6 12 hour day.
About the role Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Safety, Health and Emergency Response you will be required to provide leadership, advice, training and practical support for all health and safety aspects in an open-cut mining, underground mining, and ore processing operation. Assist in the development, implementation and review of health and safety strategies, systems, plans. Influence operational personnel to ensure best practice health and safety management outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include whilst not limited to the following:
Commit to maintaining health and safety standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout the company Facilitate and/or participate in risk assessments at all levels (WRAC, Bowties and operational). Ensure deadlines for inspections, audits, and incidents are met Ensure health and safety performance data is effectively collected, stored, analysed, tracked, and reported according to internal procedures and regulatory requirements Assist in the rehabilitation and return to work of employees with workplace injuries in accordance with legal obligations and company procedures Provide the development and delivery of effective training that ensures employees are adequately trained to maintain safe site operations Provide professional advice and hands on support to the Management team to ensure that the Safety and Health system, processes and tools are effectively implemented, understood, and complied with Assist with annual budgeting process and ensure costs are managed to meet budget expectations Ensure that all safety and health related tasks, documents and training are carried out in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Work Health and Safety (Petroleum and Mines) Act and Regulations and any other standards which apply Maintain a positive attitude towards safety in the workplace and support the department and Line Managers by increasing safety awareness, leading by example, implementing safety and training promotions Provide advice on sustainable and practical corrective measures Facilitate or participate in Incident investigations, including ICAM's when required Influence proactive safety behaviours through visible safety leadership Lead and conduct workplace internal audits, inspections, and critical risk control verification providing feedback on compliance to line management Assist with other safety, training and health duties as required About you Workplace Health & Safety Diploma qualifications or higher Return to Work Certification (preferred) National competencies in Confined Space, Working Safely at Height and High-Risk Work licences advantageous Minimum 5 years WH&S experience in mining or relevant heavy industries Competent user of Microsoft Office and INX Competent in writing and reviewing management plans, procedures, work method statements and other WH&S related system documentation Previous experience in the development and implementation of HSE procedures and standards The ability to conduct and participate in audits Training, and competence in conducting effective ICAM investigations Previous experience in the implementation and application of Risk Management Processes Experience in return-to-work coordination At Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
