This is an ongoing role with flexible working options, with learning and development opportunities.
We are seeking a skilled, proactive and highly organised Advisor to work as part of a small team supporting multiple Audit and Risk Committees (ARCs) in the DCS portfolio to do their important work.
As part of Governance, Risk and Assurance, you will facilitate the work of the ARCs to provide independent advice to agency heads on audit, risk, and assurance.
The role requires a person with excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, and who is agile and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
You will :
Understand the remit of the ARCs and, with colleagues, ensure the committees receive the information they need, Work with agency officials to ensure matters are brought to the ARCs attention and action items are delivered on time, and Ensure exceptional secretariat functions are provided as part of good governance at DCS.
This role reports to the Manager Governance (Secretariat).
Key accountabilities include :
Working closely with the manager to meet committee needs and priorities.
Research and analysis to contribute to the policy process and inform decision making.
Liaising with key stakeholders, internally, across the portfolio and externally.
Collating information, materials and papers for presentation and consideration at ARC meetings.
Ensuring high quality minutes and actions are captured at ARC meetings.
To be successful in this role you will have :
Previous experience in providing secretariat support, including coordinating material for executive committees or boards, and capturing minutes and actions at meetings, or in a role with similar, transferable skills; Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality documents with strong attention to detail.
The ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive matters.
Sound understanding of government policy and processes.
Confidence in escalating issues where appropriate and participate in team discussions to share information and respond to enquiries.
