In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women's only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area. Advisor – EnvironmentAre you an enthusiastic environmental professional with a can-do attitude and a passion for making a difference? The Dugald River Mine is seeking a team member to join our dynamic Environment Team as we tackle climate change, embrace renewable energy, and expand our operations sustainably.This role will be based on an 8/6, drive-in drive-out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly-in fly-out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.The Role:In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting our environmental goals. You'll be involved in various activities, including: Environmental sample collection (surface water, groundwater, air, sediment), results analysis/interpretation and drafting regulator correspondence (if required)Hiring and onboarding environmental consultants, reviewing their deliverables, and processing billingProject management of environmental initiatives/improvements and delivering high-quality workCollecting data for NGERS, NPI and Sustainability reporting Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Law or relevant experienceClass C Driver's Licence (Manual) with 4WD experience highly desirableStrong computer literacy (Microsoft Office) We are looking for someone with: A positive and can-do attitude with a willingness to learnExperience in environmental sampling, results analysis, and reportingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProblem-solving and time management skillsDrone licence or interest in obtaining oneBroad understanding of mining and minerals processing and the potential environmental impacts relating to these practices.(Optional but desirable) Experience preparing applications or supporting material for Environmental Authority amendments, Estimated Rehabilitation Costs or Annual Returns(Optional but desirable) Experience with ArcGIS What we offerRemuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package & annual bonus.
