Utilise your Journalistic and Writing expertise to provide support and advice to the Strategic Communication branchTwo Ongoing, Full-Time opportunities to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceAbout the Business Unit: Strategic Communication delivers communication services on behalf of the Department of Justice and Community Safety's (DJCS) business units to inform and educate the community about departmental policies, programs and legislation.
About the Role: The Adviser, Media provides communication support and advice to the department's business units, senior executives and ministerial offices.
Some of your duties will include:
Researching and preparing media releases, speeches and other communication materialProactively promoting initiatives and policies through the media and respond to media enquiriesPreparing and reviewing reports on media coverage.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.
About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Demonstrated experience in development and delivery of a range of media and communication activities and functionsA knowledge of State Government and department communication policies and processes is desired, but not essentialThe ability to accept changed priorities without undue discomfort while responding quickly to changes and comfortably working in collaboration with teams outside of own organisation.Qualifications/Requirements: A tertiary qualification in journalism, public relations or other communication-related discipline is desirable.How to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
