About the role Reporting to the New Idea Editor, the Lifestyle Writer will play an important part in shaping the brand's omnichannel future.
Working across both digital and print, the Lifestyle Writer will pitch and create content that excites and informs our consumers across our key content pillars, including health, fitness, beauty, fashion, travel, homes, pets and more! The successful applicant will be a confident communicator who is comfortable liaising with both internal stakeholders and external contacts, such as publicists, talent and advertisers.
Strong writing ability, organisational skills and digital experience are a must.
Duties Pitching content ideas to suit both print and digital Briefing and sourcing images together with the picture desk, and work with art teams to bring your pages to life Working together with New Idea team members across print and digital Working with advertising department Writing copy and building stories using Word Press for newidea.com.au Liaising with PRs, talent and advertising clients Invest in development through taking advantage of Are's regular learning opportunities Attend events and launches where you'll represent brand New Idea Skills and experience A degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent Experience in a busy newsroom is ideal, but not crucial - however a desire to learn and passion for the New Idea brand is required Writing skills (a writing test may form part of the application process) Digital skills preferred; understanding of Word Press CMS specifically is advantageous Demonstrated ability to be commercially minded Are Media is committed to a diverse, respectful, collaborative & inclusive workplace.
