In this key role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Principal and fellow staff members to ensure the strategic direction and smooth operation of daily tasks.As ISC continues to grow, this newly established position is vital in providing additional support to the Principal and stakeholders. The successful candidate will showcase a thorough understanding of contemporary and evolving teaching and learning methodologies specifically adapted to an Islamic educational setting. The successful candidate will be allocated a reasonable teaching load.Interested applicants are required to submit a comprehensive application package, including the following:A detailed CV highlighting relevant experience and qualifications.A separate document to address all the selection criteria.Contact information for at least two referees who can provide professional references.Selection Criteria:The applicant should have a TQI teacher registration.The applicant must have at least 3-5 years' experience as a deputy principal in an Australian School, including budgeting, resource allocations, curriculum planning, professional development, and policy development to ensure efficient operation and compliance with regulations. Demonstrated experience in providing strategic direction in an educational setting and proven ability to inspire and motivate staff, students and other stakeholders to achieve educational excellence. Applicant should have effective interpersonal and communication skills.The successful applicant is expected to have sound Islamic knowledge and to have Islamic values and respect for the Islamic ethos to work in a faith-based school.Capacity to adapt to changes, lead initiatives for educational innovation and digital integration, and ability to facilitate a harmonious working environment, The candidate should also demonstrate evidence of working in a challenging environment. Knowledge and experience of secondary school's planning and development such as Senior Secondary Studies (SSS) and Vocational Education and Training (VET).Only applicants who meet the selection criteria will be invited for an interview.Responsibilities: The deputy principal under the Principal's guidance will:Recognize the value of child-centred, personalised learning approaches.Advocate for the full implementation of the National Quality Standards.Possess strong planning and implementation skills to uphold and enhance the high educational standards across all learning areas.Report to the principal and collaborate closely with the Principal to oversee the school's educational vision and direction and grasp the school's leadership dynamics and objectives.Foster a sense of community spirit and engagement among all stakeholders within the school.Demonstrate educational leadership abilities to empower individuals and teams and manage their performance effectively in consultation with the principal.Contribute to developing and programming the Future Directions curriculum and associated documentation in consultation with the principal.Serve as a role model for excellence and innovation across all aspects of their work.Serve the school faithfully and diligently to the best of their ability.Comply with all lawful and directions of the school.Comply with all regulations and policies applicable to their position and the duties assigned to them.Assist in the daily running of the school.Assist in analysing students' learning outcomes.Assist in conducting staff appraisal.Mentoring of new coordinators and new teachers.Review of school policies and procedure to ensure compliance with all related legislations.Maintain an effective and safe learning environment.Assist in organising public events and school functions and ceremonies.Remuneration:Our salaries are highly competitive and we use the ACT Public Sector Education Directorate (Teaching Staff) Agreement 2023 - 2026 as a guide. The salary for this position ranges between $142,082 – 168,734 depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. This is a fixed term position.
