Full time, continuing employment, contingent on the continuation of external funding, located on Camperdown Campus at the Gadigal Centre
Provide learning and case management support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students completing courses within Arts and Social Sciences
Base salary of 99,455 + 17% Superannuation + Leave Loading
About the Opportunity
This position is an Identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Position.
Preference will be given to applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.

The Gadigal Centre is the University of Sydney's dedicated student centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, providing academic, pastoral and cultural support services to Indigenous students to help them achieve their full potential and to graduate job-ready.

As an Advancement Officer at the Gadigal Centre, you will liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in study within the schools of Arts and Social Sciences at the University, supporting them in all aspects of university life.
This is an opportunity to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through their academic journey to navigate university life and help them reach their full potential.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
report to the Gadigal Centre Advancement Coordinator, and work in a team of 8
provide learning guidance, information, advice, and case-management support to students
coordinate and implement programs according to different faculties' needs
facilitate student interaction with peers, mentors and academics with shared interests and aspirations
support the production of events and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
liaise with others (Accommodation, Financial Assistance, Disability Services etc.)
to ensure services applicable to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander undergraduate students are culturally appropriate
About you
tertiary qualifications in any discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience required
experience supporting students through the student life cycle
knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures
demonstrated first-hand lived experience and engagement in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities
an understanding of the issues affecting people in contemporary Australian society and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
computer skills, including MS Office and CRM systems preferred
experience working in the tertiary education preferred, but not essential.
