Full time, continuing employment, contingent on the continuation of external funding, located on Camperdown Campus at the Gadigal Centre Play a key role in supporting the Gadigal Centre and its strategic objectives Base Salary $121,508 - $137,032 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity This position is an Identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Position. The Gadigal Centre is the University of Sydney's dedicated student centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, providing academic, pastoral, and cultural support services to Indigenous students to help them achieve their full potential and graduate job-ready.
The Advancement Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Director and Program Manager of the Gadigal Centre in achieving strategic objectives. You will serve as the main point of contact for engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, utilizing your cultural knowledge and experience to provide constructive guidance on challenges and opportunities. In addition, you will oversee learning support, manage staff performance and development, and collaborate with students and staff to meet objectives and resolve issues.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide management support in the implementation of the One Sydney, Many People strategy.
Support the Program Manager, Gadigal Centre with the implementation of operating activities and strategic projects and services across all Gadigal Student Support Services, including the ITAS program.
Provide learning guidance relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postgraduate and final year undergraduate students.
Develop and implement specific support programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students and final year undergraduate students.
Liaise with other University Units to develop culturally appropriate procedures and protocols for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students.
Provide effective leadership and management of Gadigal Centre staff and services.
About you Excellent knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring, and performance management of staff.
Strong computer literacy skills, particularly in corporate-level databases and information systems.
Excellent time and workload management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes.
Effective and tactful communication skills together with strong problem-solving skills.
The ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment.
