This is an incredible opportunity to work as a Neonatal advanced trainee in neonatal and perinatal medicine in Canberra's largest facility.

At least 12 months of neonatal intensive care experience is preferred.
3500 deliveries per year and is a principal referral centre for high-risk pregnanciesNewborn Care admits approximately 700-800 infants annually, out of which 300 necessitate respiratory support. The facility is equipped with 16 planned intensive care/high dependency beds and 18 special care nursery beds to accommodate these needs.The position includes clinical, leadership and education responsibilitiesThe role is supported six Neonatologists, along with 18+ junior medical staff (AT, Registrars, RMOs)Provide support and supervision to junior medical staffParticipate in the after-hours and on-call roster
Trainee's will gain experience within:
Clinician performed ultrasound trainingNeonatal surgical cases (except cardiac surgery)NICU Growth and Development clinicsRetrievals through NETS ACTWard roundsHigh risk antenatal counselling The Location:

The Facility:
A large facility with more than 650 beds, it is the main teaching facility for the Australian National University and caters to a population of over 550,000.

The Hospital provides a wide range of services across more than 25 buildings on its campus, including acute inpatient and day services, outpatient services, women's and children's services, paediatrics and pathology.Additionally the facility provides care to all major medical specialities - oncology, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, infectious diseases, neonatology, paediatric gastroenterology, palliative care, rehabilitation, respiratory, pain specialists and a vast array of different surgeon specialities.

Eligibility: AHPRA General Registration, at least 12 months of neonatal intensive care experience is preferredProvisional or limited registration with AHPRA or eligible to obtainIMG's that have completed at least the AMC MCQ (part 1) or completed both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam)IMG's eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)SIMG's assessed by RACP College as partially or substantially comparable (doctors currently interviewing with RACP may express their interest)
