Work as a part of the Pharmacy Department to provide a comprehensive, efficient, and accountable pharmacy service for hospital patients.
The Role:Advanced Pharmacy Technicians complete a structured training process (micro-credentialling) to work as part of our Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Work activities will include initiating and documenting best possible medication histories (BPMHs) and supporting discharges and transitions of care for patients admitted to the acute hospital in the region.
Advanced Pharmacy Technicians are required to exercise initiative across a spectrum of responsibilities and to use professional judgment to appropriately seek advice or direction, particularly in regard to appropriate scope of practice.
Advanced Pharmacy Technicians are currently employed in a short-term project capacity working alongside our pharmacists to provide clinical care.
The Team:The Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania's second largest hospital providing inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas.
The hospital is a clinical teaching and research centre.
As part of the pharmacy team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
Details of appointment:Multiple fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of nine (9) months.

$79,529 to $91,517 pro rata per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Possess or be actively enrolled in Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance (Hospital and Community Health Pharmacy Assistance) from a recognised education institution; orPossess or be actively enrolled in Certificate III or IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support from a recognised educational institution; orAn Associate Diploma from a recognised educational institution, or an equivalent qualification, that is relevant to the work of a Pharmacy Technician.Note: Please refer to the Application Guide for more information of Essential requirements, Desirable requirements and pre-employment check.
