About the Role: This is a Fixed Term Part Time position at 56 hours per fortnight as a Patient Support Officer until 30/06/2027. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for parents and carers. This is a pivotal role where you'll play a key part in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our young patients.

What you'll be responsible for: Assisting with transition work to care closer to home for select patients. Maintaining accurate waitlists for elective surgeries and procedures, prioritising patients based on clinical need. Admitting patients for surgery, ensuring all paperwork is complete and liaising with families on the day of admission. Working closely with medical and nursing staff, the Hospital Bed Manager, and various departments to coordinate admissions and bed allocation. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information in our electronic medical record system (Epic) and Patient Administration System (IBA). Providing exceptional customer service to families, addressing their questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism. Your skills and experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare admissions or waitlist management role. Possesses excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for patient-centred care. Is a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
