POSITION OBJECTIVE To provide administrative, investigative and compliance to Council's Waste Management Services.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated high level experience in an Administrative Officer role and or similar with high level computing ability.Sound knowledge of Waste Management activities and understanding of Local Government processes or willingness to obtain.Knowledge of weighbridge operations.High level of written and verbal communication skills.Understanding of environmental compliance and relevant legislative requirements.Certificate III in Business Administration is desirable.Current Qld Driver's Licence is essential.Qld Construction Induction White Card is essential.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for the following areas and includes but is not limited to:
Responsible for the administration of the Waste Management department.Responsible for the preparation of Waste Management monthly report for Council.Responsible for the administration of Mount Isa City's Refuse tip and Waste handling operations.Responsible for the effective operation of Weighbridge.Assist the Waste Coordinator and undertake other duties as directed.You are required to follow any other lawful and reasonable directives provided by your supervisor or more senior officer.Out-of-ordinary hours work may be required. Council reserves the right to change these duties at any time. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Undertake administrative tasks for Waste Management within designated timeframes.Development, implementation and monitoring of procedures to enhance the Section's productivity.Provision of professional advice in accordance with relevant legislation and recognised industry standards.All assigned tasks completed professionally and on time.Accountable for positive health and safety practices.High level of customer service and confidentiality.High level of participation and commitment to team outcomes.All liaisons carried out in a professional manner being a positive ambassador for Mount Isa City Council.Promotes and complies with Council policies and procedures.WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY All employees of Council have an obligation to comply with Work Health and Safety legislation including Council's Work Health policies, procedures, and work instructions.
