The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia.
Key Duties The Administrative Review Officer is responsible for assisting the Internal Integrity Unit in effectively implementing the NDIS Commission's legislative obligations and functions in one or more of the following areas: Privacy Assist with assessing the NDIS Commission data handling practices, privacy policies, procedures and guidelines to identify gaps and non-compliance with privacy reforms.
Action the privacy reforms roadmap to ensure alignment with scope, deliverables and timelines.
Implement privacy policies and procedures and guidelines that align with best practice.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders to keep informed of progress of the privacy reform project and assist with the integration of privacy reforms across all areas of the NDIS Commission.
Contribute to privacy training and awareness programs to educate employees about privacy requirements, data protection and their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding personal and sensitive information held by the NDIS Commission.
Assist with change strategies to ensure a smooth transition to new policies and procedures, address resistance to change and provide support to employees as they adapt to new requirements.
Evaluate and monitor compliance with privacy reforms and best practices to identify improvement measures.
Internal Review Draft administrative decisions, brief delegates and co-ordinate responses relating to complex or sensitive matters relating to the functions of the Internal Integrity Unit.
Co-ordinate and gather information relating to matters and monitor compliance with statutory and internal timeframes.
Use appropriate tools (including the Microsoft Office suite) and templates to aid processing of and reporting on matters against tight deadlines.
Respond to inquiries regarding the functions of the Internal Integrity Unit to internal and external stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with staff of the NDIS Commission, including with Legal Services Branch in relation to external review proceedings and with decision-makers in relation to freedom of information and internal review matters.
Manage highly sensitive or confidential material, including public interest disclosures, treating information with appropriate sensitivity.
Assess and develop practice with a continuous improvement lens to develop capability within the NDIS Commission.
Skills, Knowledge, and Personal Attributes The role would suit critical and creative thinkers with excellent attention to detail, and a passion for effective client service, process improvement and delivering positive outcomes in an integrity context.
To be successful in the role, you must have excellent organisational skills, work well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy juggling multiple competing priorities.
Minimum Mandatory Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least 12 months experience in one or more of the following: Working with the Privacy Act 1988 and best practices in privacy and risk management; Handling internal review requests, administrative decision-making, or similar at a Federal or State level; Handling FOI requests or similar at a Federal or State level, including practical experience in effectively applying FOI legislation.
In addition, candidates must demonstrate: Excellent interpersonal skills to positively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels; Ability to quickly learn and acquire skills and knowledge in an unfamiliar area of work or subject matter; Work experience or familiarity with government operations and procedures.
Eligibility Requirements NDIS employees are required to be Australian Citizens.
Candidates employed by the NDIS Commission are required to undertake a Police Records Check prior to commencement of employment.
If the position involves working with children and/or vulnerable people, the appropriate check for this will also be required to be undertaken.
Successful candidate(s) will be required to obtain and maintain at least a baseline security clearance.
