Benefits Salary packaging options up to $18,450 per annum tax free (conditions apply)Remote allowance of $3,300 per annumAnnual airfare allowance6 weeks annual leave3 weeks personal leaveRelocation allowanceAbout the role The Administrative Practice Manager – Criminal will work closely with the Managing Criminal Lawyer – Southern Region to ensure the quality output of the administration staff in the criminal team including coordinating training and strategies to improve and maintain efficiency in file processing and management of all administrative processes. The work requires a high level of motivation, energy, and a commitment to professional excellence.
What you'll be doing Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Managing Criminal Lawyer and legal staff in the Criminal Law Section.Supervise and guide administrative staff, manage workloads, leave approvals, rostering, and staff training in Alice Springs.Develop and implement procedures to improve service quality and maintain the Client Management System in the Criminal Law Section.Coordinate with IT and HR to assist with staff onboarding and offboarding, including seating, devices, and access.Arrange travel, itineraries, and accommodation for legal staff, including coordinating with finance and external contractors.What we're looking for Proven ability to lead and mentor a small team in a fast-paced environment to achieve organisational goals.Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality in a multicultural office setting.Effective administrative and organisational skills, with experience in financial procedures, general office functions, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.Commitment to social justice, understanding of the NT legal system, and knowledge of services available to Aboriginal clients.Desirable: An understanding of the practical and legal issues facing Aboriginal people living in remote communities.Requirements A current NT Driver's LicenseAbility to obtain a "Working with Children Clearance" (Ochre Card) upon commencement.Satisfactory criminal history checkIf you're excited about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply now!
