About the Department of Education The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration.
The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division The Workforce Policy and Strategy Division brings together workforce strategy, policy, program delivery and data analytics to lead a strategic approach to the management and development of Victoria's school education workforce.
Teams are involved in diverse work, from developing overarching strategies to improve the supply and retention of government school teachers in Victoria, to the delivery of specific programs such as the provision of wrap-around supports for pre-service teachers and the induction of graduate teachers.
The division offers a friendly and developmental environment, with approximately 40 staff who are committed to supporting Victoria's teaching workforce.
About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an Executive Assistant / Administration Officer to support 3 Directors within the Workforce Policy and Strategy Division.
The EA / Admin Officer will provide ongoing administrative support to the Director, Workforce Policy and Reform Branch, the Director of Career Start and the Director of the Workforce Analytics and Strategy Branch.
You will work in close partnership with the EA for the Executive Director, Workforce Policy and Strategy Division.
Duties will include email and calendar management, arranging and scheduling appointments and meetings, organising travel, accommodation and events, payment of invoices, managing correspondence and briefings and other general office administrative tasks.
This is a diverse, hands-on role which requires a high level of professionalism and discretion, strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
In line with the broader Victorian Government Flexible Work Policy, the default expectation for this role is to work three days a week in the office (or more if preferred).
Attributes Excellent organisational skills The ability to recognise urgent requests and prioritise accordingly Proficiency in the use of MS Outlook and Teams and ability to quickly learn other software products Experience with Oracle and SharePoint is desirable Strong interpersonal and communication skills Effective team working and collaboration Desirable Qualifications and Experience Prior experience as an executive assistant or administration officer required.
