Administrative Officer – Emergency Department  Monash Medical Centre, Clayton Emergency Department   Healthcare Administration   Permanent part-time position  About Monash Health   As the largest public healthcare services provider in Victoria, Monash Health provides integrated health care services available to over 1.3 million people, representing 32% of the population of greater Melbourne.
Further extending our newborn and children's specialties, in early 2017 we opened a new 230 bed dedicated Children's Hospital, co-located with Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.
Victoria's largest healthcare service and one of only four accredited Academic Health Science Centers in Australia.
About the Emergency Department at Monash Medical Centre.
Our Emergency Department at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, is responsible for over 85,000 emergency presentations annually.
With a mixed paediatric and adult treatment area.
The department has 115 cubicles including seven resuscitation cubicles, decontamination facilities and isolation rooms.
About the Role   Your desire to help others, especially in urgent situations, will be well met by this job.
You will be the first contact for many visitors to our emergency area.
Our administrative officers are key to providing customer focused service to patients and their families.
You will be working in a busy, team-based environment providing efficient and effective admin support to the clinical staff and directly contributing to optimum patient care and the function of the department.
Your shifts will pass quickly in this busy environment as you respond to the varied needs of our consumers.
Registering patient information  Admissions, discharges, and transfers  Administration and other clerical tasks  About You  We will put to work your customer service skills and ability to remain helpful in what can be a demanding environment.
You understand the ED is a fast paced, sensitive, and frequently changing environment, with that we will offer comprehensive training that will fully prepare you.
Availability to work across a 24/7 roster is required.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills  Have a desire and passion to learn new systems and process.
Medical terminology (advantageous)  Experience with EMR (FirstNet) and iPM (advantageous)  Advanced keyboard skills  Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Exceptional, effective communication skills  What you need: Proven healthcare administration experience  Glowing referees from current or previous manager/managers  Knowledge of Monash Health software systems would be advantageous, or the ability to learn them in a timely manner.
Attention to detail coupled with ability to priority competing tasks and deadlines.
Able to work autonomously as well as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
Excellent customer services skills and ability to remain calm and helpful in a challenging or changing environment.
