About the Role Join our team as an Emergency Department Administration Officer on a part time ongoing basis to work at Dandenong Hospital based at Dandenong.
General administrative duties including customer service relating to the functions of the Emergency Department.
Patient registrations, admissions, discharges including ambulance bookings.
Data entry and administrative support.
Set shift roster (fortnightly pattern) afternoon and night shift.
About Us The Emergency Department (ED) Dandenong Hospital is responsible for approximately 70,000 emergency presentations annually and is a mixed ED seeing both adults and paediatrics.
The department has 20 short stay and 35 mains cubicles and our four resuscitation cubicles, decontamination facilities and two isolation rooms.
There are also dedicated facilities for patients with mental health needs and a 20 bed adult Short Stay Unit.
A Day in the Life No two days will be the same as we treat babies to the elderly, across a wide range of specialties including trauma, orthopaedics, plastics and colorectal.
About You You'll thrive on the challenge that comes from working in a fast-paced setting, knowing you are well supported by highly skilled Nursing, Medical, Allied Health and Administrative teams.
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: Administrative skills including excellent computer skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures in other departments e.g.
Outpatients, Wards, Theatre, Medical Records and Admissions.
Medical terminology (desirable).
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Use of office equipment.
Shifts Available: Week 1 Tuesday - 1700hrs - 0100hrs Wednesday - 1700hrs - 0100hrs - 2300hrs - 0700hrs (night shift) Friday - 0700hrs - 1500hrs Saturday - 1500hrs - 2300hrs (X3 afternoon shifts) - 2300hrs - 0700hrs (night shift) Sunday - 1500hrs - 2300hrs (X2 afternoon shifts) Week 2 Wednesday - 2300hrs - 0700hrs (night shift) Friday - 0700hrs - 1500hrs Friday - 1700hrs - 0100hrs Sunday - 0700hrs - 1500hrs - 2300hrs - 0700hrs (night shift).
