About the Law Council of Australia
The Law Council of Australia represents the legal profession at the national level, to speak on behalf of its Constituent Bodies on national issues, and to promote the administration of justice, access to justice and general improvement of the law.

The Secretariat serves the Law Council nationally and is based in Canberra.
About the role The Sections Administrative Coordinator will provide superior administrative and secretariat services to the Law Council's Sections. The Sections Administrative Coordinator will provide close support to the FDRS and LPS Executive and members. The position will also assist the Law Council's other Sections, providing support and concurrency to ongoing operations and events.
Details about the Position Position Title: Section Coordinator (Federal Dispute Resolution Section and Legal Practice Section)
Work hours: Part-time 2 days p/week (0.5 FTE).
Division / Reports to: Executive Officer and Company Secretary

Duties and Responsibilities Support the Executive Officer of the Federal Dispute Resolution Section and Legal Practice Section with: Preparation for events, i.e., resource creation and dissemination. Logistics support including travel interstate. Event planning. Assist the Executive Officer in providing executive level support to FDRS and LPS Executive Committees, with a particular focus on the facilitation of Executive meetings. Assist with the administration and management of FDRS and LPS memberships. Assist with, and at times facilitate, the development of the FDRS quarterly publication 'Chapter III' and LPS newsletter. Coordinate the publishing of articles to the Law Management Hub. Be prepared to support other LCA Sections in the case of staff backfilling or absences. Contribute to the overall membership growth plan including general promotional activities, managing renewal drives, and identifying and introducing new member benefits. Prepare and distribute a quarterly newsletter (currently named Chapter III) using Canva. Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Selection Criteria Essential Demonstrated experience in providing executive and high-level administrative support. Ability to provide a high standard of administrative support with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail with well-developed writing skills. Self-motivated and the ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated high standard of competency in MS Office. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to multi-task, manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines whilst dealing with a wide range of people. The ability to travel interstate with at times after hours. Desirable Experience in providing meeting support including minute taking. Experience working with data management systems, design software and registration systems. Previous experience in a member-based organisation, or legal background. Some experience with finance. Experience liaising with key stakeholders, for example: Courts. Government agencies. Members. External providers. Contractors.
