Administrative Assistant – Waste Services | NSW Local Government
Contract Duration: 3 months
Rate: $33.96/hour + Super
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
Location: Blacktown

About the Role:
Join the Waste Services team within NSW Local Government and play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and supporting community-focused initiatives.
As an Administrative Assistant – Waste Services, you'll assist the Senior Coordinator Waste Services and contribute to maintaining smooth, effective processes across the section.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-level administrative support, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Coordinate schedules, prepare documentation, and take accurate minutes at meetings.
Manage accounts payable and procurement functions, including processing invoices and raising purchase orders.
Maintain records in compliance with Council's Record Management procedures.
Support Community Law Enforcement and Waste systems, administering legislative requirements and policies.
Deliver professional advice and timely responses to internal and external customer inquiries.
Monitor and report on financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).

What We're Looking For:
Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or suitable experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
Strong communication skills with experience in negotiation and conflict resolution.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
A current Class C driver's license.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience with corporate databases (e.g., TRIM, TechOne, SCOUT).
Familiarity with financial management and website content management.
Proven competency in minute-taking and managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
