The Community Engagement Administration Traineeship is part of Council's Education to Employment (E2E) program – designed to provide you with on-the-job experience, mentoring and support from highly skilled professionals, all while you complete a formal qualification. This Traineeship is a two-year program, within the Community Partnerships department. Community Partnerships is a diverse team and includes a range of community services including Volunteering, Facility Management, Social Planning, Sustainability, Cemeteries, Family Day Care and Land Care. This role is about engaging and supporting the community and having the customer at the center of everything you do. Throughout the traineeship, you will be supported to complete a Certificate IV in Business Administration online while gaining valuable hands-on experience in administration with a focus on community engagement. In this role, we will support you to: Make and manage bookings for community facilities such as parks and halls, special events and sporting activities Analyse and enter data in our computer systems and databases Organise documents and filling Prepare meeting agendas, meeting documentation and minutes Communicate with a variety of internal and external customers and navigate customer enquiries
The position is based at LMCC's Administration Building in Speers Point and operates Monday to Friday. Some travel within the Lake Macquarie area may be required.
Candidates who have completed a Certificate IV Business Administration or higher qualification may not be eligible to apply.
WHAT WE OFFER
Receive a wage whilst studying towards a qualification starting from $830.46 per week plus 12 per cent superannuation
Payment of all course fees Paid time to study and attend compulsory classes Yearly pay reviews and increases based on performance 35 hour working week with nine-day fortnight Four weeks paid annual leave Be mentored and work closely with Team of qualified professionals in a supportive, empowering, innovative and collaborative work environment
We are looking for enthusiastic people with good communication, teamwork and customer service skills, who are organised, have good attention to detail, and have a strong interest in supporting the community. You will also need to meet the following criteria: Completion of a minimum of Year 12 HSC or equivalent by December 2024. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to undertake the required qualification required for the position within the two-year period of this role A current Driver's license (minimum provisional) is highly desirable Good computer skills particularly with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Prior experience in administration, customer service and/or community engagement is highly desirable
