Position ObjectivesResponsible for supporting the Social Inclusion Action Group Project Officer to lead and facilitate the Social Inclusion Action Group (SIAG).Assist the Social Inclusion Action Group Project Officer in bringing together community members and leaders and supporting them to have ownership of this initiative.Assist in delivery of activities that promote mental health and wellbeing and address social inclusion and connection as identified by the SIAG.The role will further contribute to the project through supporting activities including projects and events associated with the Local Social Inclusion Investment fund and the SIAG more broadly.The role will at times further support the Reconciliation and Social Inclusion Team to facilitate Council lived experience Advisory Groups including the Disability Advisory Group, Intercultural Advisory Group, LGBTIQA+ Advisory Group, Koorie Engagement Action Group Advisory Committee and the Ballarat Friends of Ainaro Community Committee.The role may at times be called on to further assist with project and events management particularly supporting administration and compliance.Observe confidentiality of client and staff information and business unit, and Council matters.Qualifications And ExperienceTertiary qualification in Administration, Project Management, Community Development or other relevant area is highly desirable.Relevant experience in administration or grants management roles.About YouAre you passionate about community and promoting mental health and wellbeing, social connection, and social inclusion?
Social Inclusion Action Groups are a flagship prevention initiative of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health and Wellbeing System that aim to strengthen the focus of the system towards supporting people's mental health and wellbeing earlier and in place.
Ballarat will establish a Social Inclusion Action Group (SIAG) made up of local community members in early 2025.
The Social Inclusion Action Group Administration Officer will support the Social Inclusion Action Group Project Officer to lead the establishment of the group and support the group to understand the needs of local community and to make decisions, coordinate and deliver activities and initiatives promoting social inclusion and connection through administration of the Local Social Inclusion Investment Fund. The Social Inclusion Action Group Administration Officer will further support the Reconciliation and Social Inclusion Team to deliver projects, activities and events.
