The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute, and specialist services.
The Community area of the Cairns integrated Palliative Care service covers an area from Ellis Beach in the north to Aloomba in the south and funds services to Mossman, Port Douglas, and Kuranda. The Palliative Care Service focuses on the well-being and quality of life of people with a terminal illness and their families in their home environment.
About your opportunity: Manage and maintain processing of referrals, sourcing and retrieving patient information, and scheduling appointments within the required timeframes indicated in a timely and efficient manner in line with clinician specifications and the CHHHS "Administration Procedure Manual".Maintain the database for the Community Palliative Care service.Provide general administration support including maintaining stationery and equipment, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, photocopying and filing, petty cash reconciliation, booking and management of rooms through RMS – Resource Management System for videoconferencing, telehealth, and conferences.Provide a high level of communication skills in a friendly and helpful manner with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively, have a flexible attitude, communicate clearly and confidently with members of the public, patients/clients, and departmental staff both in person and over the telephone whilst adhering to Queensland Health guidelines.As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive remuneration, you will also have access to:
