Administration Officer - Medical Typist/OutpatientsFixed term temporary full time opportunity to effectively provide an efficient and accurate administrative service through the timely provision of medical transcription and typing services, along with a range of valuable support duties as directed as part of the administrative team within the Cardiothoracic Surgery Program.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide medical typing and transcription support to the staff specialists.
Make corrections and/or alterations to typed correspondence as required and assist with other typing and administrative support functions as required.Communicate with medical and other staff to ensure delivery of the dictated transcripts within prescribed time requirements.Provide administrative support within the Cardiothoracic Surgery program - filing, updating patient information on HBCIS and other databases as required and referral processing as directed.Provide effective and flexible administrative support by delivering reception, booking service and office administrative services utilising contemporary office equipment and software packages specific to TPCH eg: HBCIS, QFlow, CCI, Inteleconnect, The Viewer, Outlook and various Microsoft office suite programs.Complete functions associated with the waitlisting of patients, bookings for procedures/appointments, managing procedure/appointment cancellations, rescheduling and removals from the waiting list using the relevant information systems in a timely manner.Health Equity It is expected that all Metro North Health staff, including the incumbent of this role as a valuable member of the Metro North workforce, contribute to the health equity agenda and meet the intent of supporting the defined six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS).
