The Patient Flow Support Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Administration Officer (Maintenance & Interim Care) to join their team on a permanent basis.

To provide and undertake a diverse range of confidential administrative support services to ensure the Stream delivers on their delegated accountabilities.
About the Team
The Patient Flow and Access Services (Stream 3) supports services across the continuum of care from access and entry through to discharge. The unit is responsible for strategic leadership and operational activities, monitoring demand and capacity, escalating (as needed) patient access and flow issues across the hospital and into the wider community. The team coordinates the safe movement of patients between services and facilities while also supporting hospital operations with innovative and contemporary practices.
There are three core components:
Patient access and flow (Bed Management and Afterhours Management)Nursing and Midwifery workforce pool (Nurse Bank and Casual Pool)Hospital and community interface services including hospital avoidance and bed alternatives (Care in the Right Setting, Transit Care Hub, and Long Stay Patient Team)Utilising technology and working in partnership with patients and health professionals, the service aims to ensure patients are treated at the right time, in the right place, and by the right health professional.
About our Hospital and Health Service
We have 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services, and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000 km² and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine, and Sarina.
