The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
An opportunity has become available to join the Mental Health Administration as part of the Casual pool. The Administration Officer is responsible for providing an efficient and effective clerical and administration relief service for leave coverage in clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital to ensure timeframes and deadlines are met.
The successful incumbent will monitor, screen, and transfer telephone enquiries whilst providing a high standard of customer service. On a typical day, you will be responding appropriately to enquiries from patients, visitors and staff that present to the facility. The position liaises with key stakeholders including medical, nursing, allied health, general practitioners, community organisations and interpreter services to ensure continuity of care for patients.

What You Will Bring To The RolePrevious experience working in a health setting or frontline customer service roleDemonstrated ability to work constructively and efficiently with both internal and external customers.Demonstrated ability in the use of tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion.Demonstrated high level of organisational skills with the ability to meet timeframes and prioritise workloads.Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Demonstrated experience in the use of computer applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and databases.Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
