Administrative Assistants (Administration & Office Support) Casual/Vacation
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administrative officer to join our Cardiac Diagnostics Department on a casual basis.
About Austin Health Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses for the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
About the Department The Cardiology department provides an extensive range of cardiac services to inpatients and outpatients, including outpatient consultations, echocardiography, non-invasive testing (ECG, Holter monitoring), coronary angiography, electrophysiological testing, and device implantation.
About the Role This position plays an important role in creating a positive image for the Cardiology Department, being the first point of contact for patients, either in person or by telephone. Administrative Clerks provide secretarial, reception, and administrative support to facilitate the management of patients, appointments, and records within the department.
Responsibilities include:
Identifying billable patients and providing the correct billing codes to the Finance Department.Reconciliation between systems and follow-up of billing.To be successful in this role you must demonstrate: A commitment to the Austin Health values.Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.Proven effective communication skills both verbal and written.Ability to problem solve in a variety of situations.Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a dynamic team.Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.Knowledge of medical terminology.Knowledge of hospital management systems (i.e. TrakCare, Cerner, and Cardiobase).Working at Austin Health We are committed to cultural safety and health equity for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People.
