South East Queensland Region (SEQR) extends from Eurimbula National Park (Agnes Waters) in the north to Lamington National Park in the south and west to Rockybar State Forest in the North Burnett. SEQR includes more than 334 parks and forests (over 1,202,917 hectares). The SEQR regional office is based at Maroochydore, with operational and support staff located across 18 bases at Burleigh, Nerang, Springbrook, Canungra, Lamington, Samford, The Gap, Daisy Hill, Boonah, Maleny, Kenilworth, Tewantin, Gympie, Maryborough, Bundaberg, Agnes Waters, Monto and Mundbuberra.
SEQR employs approximately 205 staff, in ranger, project officer and administration officer roles across seven business areas, SEQ regional office, Technical Support, Enhanced Fire Management, and management and operations within the Gold Coast, Greater Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay business areas.
As the AO4 Administration Officer (HR), you will provide high-level HR advice including information about vacancy management requests, recruitment and selection, PD benchmarking, workforce reports, and assist with HR policy and awards information for understanding.
Staff within SEQ Region work under two separate awards, the Public Service Officers and Other Employees Award and the Parks and Wildlife Employees Award. Your enquiries can include providing advice and guidance under these awards and, in some circumstances, the completion of manual Ranger timesheets. The HR advice you provide can also apply to policy and guidelines relative to employees working under these awards. You will use systems such as Aurion, ESS, Vacancy Management Request portal, O365 Teams, SharePoint, QSS enquiries, and Microsoft Suite for specific information during business research, analysis, and reporting. You will also update the regional SharePoint site as an author for HR information sourcing.
You will be a member of the regional leadership team representing and providing advice on HR matters, alerting the team to outstanding HR activities requiring their attention, and policy for understanding and application.
You will supervise some activities when coaching and mentoring lower classification administration staff and be responsible for the coordination and processing of HR activities from your position.
Mandatory Requirements You must hold a current unrestricted manual driver's license. You do not require tertiary qualifications to undertake this position; however, a qualification in an administration, and/or human resource or related discipline will be highly regarded.
