Cessnock District Hospital About the role: In this role you will provide a range of Administrative and Clerical support services to enable the Admissions Department to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. Tasks to be completed include, but are not limited to: Ensure that the waiting time and elective surgery policy is adhered to at all times. Ensure that timely and accurate maintenance of the elective surgery waiting lists at Cessnock District Hospital in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MoH) Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy. Provide accurate information/statistics to hospital and Department of Health information systems (iPM & Waiting List Collection On-Line System (WLCOS). Provide an effective, accurate and efficient quality admission booking service. Ensure all clerical procedures are completed in accordance with LHD policy and procedures. This position will involve a job-sharing arrangement. Working days will include every second Friday, however may involve additional days as well. Where you'll be working:  Cessnock is located only a short distance away from the Hunter Valley vineyards and is the administrative centre of the City of Cessnock Local Government Area. It is a vibrant town, surrounded by countryside and full of affordable dinning and accommodation and home to the Cessnock District Hospital. It is a 64-bed facility that provides emergency, surgical and general medical care to the area's growing population. You will become part of an exceptional team where each member brings unique strengths and experiences, but what really sets us apart is how well we work together. We're like a close-knit family, always supporting each other and collaborating to give our patients the best care possible. The successful applicant will have ongoing training/education and support provided. About you: You will have excellent communication skills, including accurate spelling, good comprehension, good verbal skills and the ability to deal courteously with people at all levels. You will have computer/data entry experience, including use of databases and software for the management of waiting lists and patient administration. You will have previous clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare setting, including qualification (or equivalent experience) of medical terminology. You will have the capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
