The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.

RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research.
There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.
About the role You will support the functions of the Victorian State Office and Victorian State Committee in effectively and efficiently delivering meetings and events.
Administration and Governance FunctionsManage incoming and outgoing correspondence for the office.
Take follow-up action and respond/refer to appropriate people, ensuring a response is issued in a timely manner.Provide secretariat support to the Victorian State Committees, including preparing meeting agendas and documents, minutes, and ensuring actions are completed.Support the Manager to achieve Committee outcomes.College Events and ActivitiesIn collaboration with the VSO, assist with the logistical requirements needed for the professional development activities held for the Fellows, SIMGs, Trainees, and junior doctors.Coordinate with Universities and Surgical Interest Groups based at the University on Career or Pre-vocational events – liaise with Fellows and Trainees when they are supporting these activities.Plan and organise, in collaboration with the VSO team, the Awards Nominations & Presentations.Skills and Experience Experience working with government/member-based organisations or not-for-profit (medical/health background not essential).Experience in providing administrative support within an office environment.Preferable experience supporting committees, including agenda and minute taking drafting.Excellent organisational skills and written communication skills.This position is part-time (0.36 FTE), 2 days per week (work days will be Wed/Fri or Thur/Fri).
