We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administrative officer to join our Cardiac Diagnostics Department on a casual basis.
Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses for the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
About the department
The Cardiology department provides an extensive range of cardiac services to inpatients and outpatients, including outpatient consultations, echocardiography, non-invasive testing (ECG, Holter monitoring), coronary angiography, and percutaneous intervention for coronary and non-coronary applications.
About the role
This position plays an important role in creating a positive image for the Cardiology Department, being the first point of contact for patients, either in person or by telephone.
Administrative Clerks provide secretarial, reception, and administrative support to facilitate the management of patients, their appointments, and records within the department. Responsibilities include identifying billable patients, providing billing codes to the Finance Department, reconciliation between systems, and follow-up of billing.

Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills

Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of hospital management systems (i.e., TrakCare, Cerner, Cardiobase)
