About the Group Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.
It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments.
SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets.
Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices.
The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Planning and Implementation Unit, Inner East Area, North East Victoria Region, SRS.
About the Role The purpose of the Administration & Program Support role is to provide administrative services to Area staff.
The Administration & Program Support role, under the direction of the Manager, Planning and Implementation, will work closely with other staff performing administrative functions and in liaison with the School Improvement Project Support Officer to ensure required supports are provided across the Area.
The role is critical to the effective operations of the Area.
It will involve periods of sustained independent work, as well as frequent and varied contact with Department employees and members of the community.
The role demands flexibility and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and supportive way with all other staff.
The Administration Officer will demonstrate discretion, integrity and initiative in the performance of their tasks, which include: * Effectively engaging with managers and Area staff to responsively action a wide range of requests for administrative support from different teams * Procurement- including hospitality, travel, office supplies and general invoice processing using the Oracle Procurement Cloud platform * Assisting with recruitment activity including advertising processes, supporting interviews and onboarding of new staff * Undertaking data entry, maintaining records and supporting preparation of briefings about schools * Managing record keeping, files, archiving and a wide range of hands-on office management duties * General administration support including meeting and forum support, event coordination including customer service and reception type functions * Program administration support.
