Community Corrections is responsible for supervising adult offenders in the community. Community Corrections is divided into seven regions each with a number of district offices and reporting centres.
Communication Corrections staff aim to protect the community and reduce re-offending by supervising offenders in the community in which they live and encourage offenders to adopt more pro-social attitudes and behaviours.
The Administration Officer will deliver efficient and effective administrative and clerical support for the district office and supports day to day operations.
The essential requirements for this role are: Communication skills as demonstrated through the ability to listen, understand and speak clearly to a wide range of audiences. Written skills with the ability to summarise information and dataProven administrative skills including financial processing and database managementAbility to apply and understand departmental policies and proceduresAbility to use judgment and discretion with confidential informationPlanning & Organising abilities to ensure tasks are completed within the required deadlines and in accordance with all relevant policies and proceduresAbility to acquire knowledge of relevant acts and regulationsDecision making and reasoning involve gathering information, evaluating a variety of solutions, and selecting the best option, working ethically, working under pressure and demonstrating resilienceTeamwork skills with the ability to work without supervision and as part of the broader team. In addition, demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to team results.Information technology skills at a competent level with the willingness to learn new IT skills and use internal information management databases as well as Microsoft Office softwareWell-developed written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service Applications to remain current for 12 months.
