Classification: Administration Officer Level 3 Year 1-2. Remuneration: $33.30 - $34.33 per hour, plus superannuation. About the role: The Administration Officer of General Medicine is responsible for providing administrative support to the medical staff and contributing to the day-to-day operations and functions of the administrative team in the General Medicine Department. Within the Department, you will have regular contact with Staff Specialists, Advanced Trainees, Medical Trainees, Junior Medical Officers, Nursing staff, hospital administrative staff, and patients. This position covers a wide range of day-to-day administrative duties and challenges associated with working in a healthcare setting. Key responsibilities:  Scheduling of patient appointments, preparation and distribution of patient referrals. Contribute to and assist in the development of quality assurance and continuous improvement measures. Provide comprehensive administrative assistance, including telephone calls, distributing mail and dicataphone typing. What you bring: Demonstrated competence in administrative and general office procedures. Proven ability to use initiative while exercising discretion and confidentiality. Experience in Medical terminology and Audio/Dictaphone typing (and/or equivalent) at 50 words per minute. Computer and general literacy with accurate keyboard and data entry skills, including proficient Microsoft Office applications. Proven ability to work with limited supervision, meet competing deadlines and work proficiently in periods of high demand. Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills including customer focused telephone technique.
