The team also provides crop insurance and undertakes negotiations on cane supply agreements, lease agreements, transport, infrastructure, government, and industry liaison as a service to our members. The overall objective of the position is to ensure that the company promotes and serves the needs of its members, meeting the strategic outcomes decided by the Board and District Manager.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to specific strategic matters set by the Board and the District Manager, the Administration Manager will be accountable for overseeing the Administration/Grower Services team and taking on full responsibility for tasks during staff absences. The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:Maintenance of the Membership DatabaseProvision of secretarial support to ManagementPreparation and distribution of meeting papersCompletion of reportsProvision of services and assistance to the cane farming client baseCrop Insurance ClaimsLease Agreements of cane landAdditional administrative duties as requiredSKILLS AND EXPERIENCELeadership and management skillsA strong focus on working efficiently in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to engage stakeholdersThe ability to carry out work in a timely and efficient manner with close attention to detailBe eager to adopt new scopes of workA sound knowledge of the suite of Microsoft Software programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven ability to develop and deliver reports and submissionsExperience reporting to a Board - Including collating board papers and minute takingAbility to develop and work within CANEGROWERS' policies and proceduresAbility and willingness to maintain ongoing professional developmentUnderstanding of government procedures and structures - desirableGood industry knowledge including the challenges and issues facing the industry - desirableREPORTING RELATIONSHIPSThe position reports to the District Manager Mackay.All applicants are required to provide a cover letter outlining their experiences and suitability for the role.
