RoleThis role is Full Time - 5 days per week, with 3 days in the Administration Office and 2 days in the Library/First Aid.
An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level (noting that Registered Nurse is not included at this level, the first level for which is Level 1 range 3).
ResponsibilitiesReception and Administration Greet and direct visitors, answer calls and queries from parents and members of the community (including triaging queries to the appropriate contact).Routine clerical and administrative support - mail, stock control, calendar management, receiving and initial processing of school forms and paperwork.Support the organisation and administration of camps, excursions, incursions, and school events.Record management and photocopying duties.Assume the overall responsibility of monitoring and managing office supplies.Maintain an organized reception and front office area.Handle correspondence and routine filing.Assist with the Administration of OHS requirements.Always maintain a high level of confidentiality.Provide ad-hoc support to other ES staff within the school.Other duties as directed by the Business Manager or Principal.Library and First Aid Provide First Aid to students as required, following processes and protocols.Maintain the Library and facilitate borrowing and returns of Library resources.Assist with Library displays and events.Assist with check and restock of school first aid kits/supplies.Assist with monitoring expiry dates of first aid materials (includes EpiPens, Asthma pumps, etc.).Other duties as directed by the Library Manager or Business Manager.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
