Newcastle Legal & Conveyancing has a team of 5 lawyers and 2 conveyancers practising in property, family law, wills & estates, civil litigation and business & commercial law.
We are a supportive and welcoming team who enjoy a weekly staff lunch and a fully-stocked kitchen. Our beautiful office is on Beaumont Street, Hamilton, close to the train station with free all-day parking just around the corner. There are endless coffee and lunch options close by.
About the Role
We are looking for a professional office all-rounder to be the face of our practice, taking calls and fielding client inquiries, making appointments, and performing para-legal tasks like drafting cover letters and preparing briefs.
The position offers a salary package including superannuation of $70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.
Our hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
A typical day will include:
handling incoming enquiries, assessing and directing phone calls; making appointments and managing calendars; greeting clients with a professional and friendly demeanour; managing incoming and outgoing mail, handling post; opening/closing files; preparation and issuing of invoices; stock control and ordering of stationery and kitchen supplies; administrative tasks such as scanning, photocopying and filing; typing or copying of documents, scanning, proofreading; performing conflict checks and data entry; maintaining a tidy reception and meeting rooms; general secretarial and administrative support to the team as required; and supporting solicitors in the preparation and management of legal documents. About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
initiative and enjoy a good level of autonomy in your work; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong organisational skills and attention to detail; professional presentation; ability to multitask and excellent time management skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. This role involves coordinating our small team to make everyone's day run a little smoother. Prior legal practice experience and familiarity with LEAP software is not essential but a proven track record working within an office environment will be advantageous.
