RolePlease note this role is a fixed full-time position, with the possibility of becoming ongoing, with working hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm including a half hour unpaid lunch break.
The Administration/First Aid Officer is the front face of the school and undertakes all administrative and first aid duties to ensure the smooth running of the front office and First Aid area, whilst supporting parents/carers, teaching staff, Educational Support Officers and the Leadership team.
ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the school office, ensuring efficient workflow and organisation.Provide routine administrative support including general telephone, front office enquiries, mail deliveries, receipt of paperwork, etc.Maintain, enter and retrieve data from the schools' various systems, such as our student management system XUNO, our student school's records system Cases21.Serve as a point of contact for parents, staff, and external organisations, handling inquiries and disseminating information.Coordinate and produce school newsletters, school magazine and maintain school electronic notice board.Provide administrative support to teachers, staff, and the Parents & Friends Community Group, helping with scheduling, event planning, and resource allocation.Ensure adherence to school policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.Assist with organisation of school events, meetings, and activities, including logistics such as venue arrangements and materials preparation, as directed.Monitor and manage office supplies and resources, including ordering materials and maintaining equipment.First Aid Responsibilities Provide first aid to students and staff during medical emergencies or injuries.Organise and administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation.Prepare reports on health incidents and emergencies for school administration, where applicable.Observe and report on any emerging health trends or outbreaks within the school community.Ensure adherence to school health policies and emergency procedures.Oversee the inventory and ordering of first aid supplies and medical equipment and complete associated risk assessments.Organise and conduct training sessions for staff on first aid and emergency response protocols as per DET requirements.Work with local health departments and emergency services as needed.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
