As a Gold Star organisation in Port Hedland, we work together with our partner organisations to support those who might be affected by homelessness, alcohol and other drug use, unemployment or other social issues. Our mission is to assist and encourage members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to keep and renew their traditional culture, whilst establishing greater self-sufficiency through fostering participation in education, employment, training, health services and housing opportunities, including the development of economic projects and enterprises.

Your RoleReporting directly to our CEO and working full-time out of South Hedland, WA, your primary responsibility will be to oversee administration matters within the organisation, leading a small team of staff and acting as the point of call for Human Resources.
Your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
Providing board support and taking minutes for board meetingsLeading our reception and mini-mart teamsOverseeing stock control of the mini-mart (a shop run by us focused on supporting local individuals and families struggling to put food on the table)Undertaking payroll and reconciliationAsset registerDocument controlProcessing maintenance requestsCompiling and producing reports for the board and other staffWhat You'll BringThe successful candidate will have prior experience with payroll and managing small teams, this will be considered essential. A tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources or a related field will be held in high regard, as will prior experience with MYOB or Xero payroll systems.
It is imperative that the successful candidate is adaptable, flexible and has the ability to learn on the run. While it is not essential to have prior experience in remote indigenous communities, a thorough understanding of Indigenous culture and a comprehensive knowledge of the challenges remote indigenous communities face will be imperative.
