Administration Assistant - Medical Workforce West Gippsland Healthcare Group – Warragul VIC
Fixed Term, Part Time - 20 hours per fortnight December 2024 until February 2026 Managers & Administrative Workers Grade 3 (HS3) An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Workforce team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Administrative Assistant.
The Medical Workforce Administration Officer will assist the Medical Workforce Operations Manager in providing a thorough and efficient service to the Medical Services Division in delivery of the Australian Medical Council Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) program. The WBA Administration Officer will also undertake general administrative tasks as directed by the Medical Workforce Operations Manager; Head of the WBA Program or the Chief Medical Officer.
This is a fixed term part time position based at the Warragul Hospital site. Some flexibility is available in terms of how the 20 hours are worked across a fortnight (i.e. school hours) and this will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Our preferred candidate will have: Ability to consult with and develop relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) Ability to work independently with minimal direction Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for decision making within scope of role Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all aspects of work Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks simultaneously. The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous: Excellent computer literacy with advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support. A thorough understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements. Previous experience in Medical Workforce or Human Resources department Degree or other qualification in Business Administration (or similar) Previous Experience within a hospital or health care environment. Experience in liaising with government departments and professional organisations Knowledge and understanding of payroll processes Knowledge of AHPRA and Visa/immigration requirements IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
