About the RoleAs the Administrative Assistant at Wilam Hall, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by providing friendly and professional support to students, staff, and visitors. This position involves answering enquiries, managing general office tasks, assisting with accounts receivable and payable, and offering administrative support to the team.
Your responsibilities will include: Providing front-line support by responding to general enquiries, assisting residents with daily issues, conducting tours, and maintaining noticeboards with up-to-date information.Delivering administrative support such as preparing correspondence, organising team meeting minutes, managing stationery, and assisting with equipment maintenance.Coordinating events and functions, including invitations, setup, refreshments, and supporting formal student dinners as required.Managing financial tasks, including petty cash handling, accounts payable and receivable, banking, and credit card transactions while ensuring compliance with University risk management and OH&S standards.Who we are looking forYou will have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively to diverse individuals, alongside a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Your problem-solving, negotiation, organisational, and time management abilities will enable you to work collaboratively within a small team, demonstrating initiative and respect for colleagues.
You will also have: A diploma-level qualification with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.A genuine enthusiasm for working with students or young people, demonstrated through activities such as student leadership, tutoring, or involvement in youth groups.This role requires the successful candidate to work in the office, despite the hybrid arrangement in place. This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
