Job location Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region. This position based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services provided in maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.
About the Role: Ward Clerks at Ravenhall Correctional Centre Forensic Mental Health Service provide high quality administrative support to the multi-disciplinary teams working within the service. The Ward Clerks work under the direction of the relevant Program/ Unit Manager who is responsible for the management of the area and will provide guidance on work priorities. The Health Information Manager will provide Health Information support and guidance as required.
Duties: Ensure a timely response to incoming calls, take messages, and provide a prompt response to enquiries.Respect confidentiality and sensitivity of activities when liaising with internal and external stakeholders.Provide support and assistance to the Program Managers and Operations Manager, as required.Meeting preparation including the recording and distribution of agendas and minutes (after approval).Coordinate meeting dates as required.Prepare and distribute emails and other written correspondence.Organise photocopying, faxing and scanning as requested.Coordinate diary appointments and arrange meetings and room bookings for the program team as requested. Order and maintain stationery, consumables and Forensicare kitchen supplies.Assist with updating procedures in the Administration Procedure Manual.Assist with uploading content to SharePoint.Demonstrate compliance with Forensicare policies and procedures, local correctional centre Operating Instructions, and other relevant legislation, standards and ethical codes of practice.About You: Demonstrated ability to provide administrative assistance in a health or mental health settingExcellent organisation and time management skillsEffective communication skills and ability to relate sensitively and professionally with colleagues and stakeholdersKnowledge of medical terminologyComputer literacy in Microsoft Office suiteA culture where people matter.
