An independent, impartial and neutral organisation, the ICRC is based in Switzerland. It employs 17,000 people in 100 countries and is financed mainly by voluntary contributions from governments and national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.The Mission in Canberra is seeking a full-time (100%), permanent Administration Assistant to work with ICRC's team in Canberra and in collaboration with the Regional Delegation for the Pacific.Qualifications & experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent education required2 years experienceStrong knowledge of MS toolsValid driver's licenseTasks & responsibilitiesProvides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office.Answers phone calls, schedules meetings and supports visitors.Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects and expediting work results.Makes travel arrangements for staff such as booking flights, cars, and hotel or restaurant reservations.Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories and evaluating new equipment and techniques.Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.This role is suited to someone who is looking for a long-term role.Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Fridays from 8.30am to 3.30pm, working flexibility can be negotiated.Benefits:ICRC contributes to your selected private health insurance on a monthly basis.Generous Salary Packaging | NFP Benefit.Plus 11.5% to your selected superannuation.Possibility of internal and external trainings.To apply, a letter of motivation & CV with at least two referees should be sent electronically to ****** deadline for receipt of applications is Sunday 8th December 2024 midnight (AEST).
