Permanent, Part-time (0.5EFT / 40 Hours)Managers and Administrative Officer Grade 2 (YC89)Located at The Alfred's Inpatient UnitSupportive multi-disciplinary team environmentThe Department The Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service is located at the Alfred Hospital, with 54 beds divided between two wards, Ground Floor and First Floor. There are two units within each floor - the High Dependency Unit (HDU) and the Low Dependency Unit (LDU). The unit is staffed by multi-disciplinary specialist clinicians that offer a range of treatments and interventions for the treatment of acute, severe mental health issues, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, comorbid substance use disorders, and eating disorders. The Inpatient Mental Health Service provides care and support to patients aged 18 - 64 years who require an inpatient stay for the treatment of mental health issues.
The Role The Administration Assistant is a valued member of the Acute Program and will require sound communication and administrative skills in order to assist in the existing support functions as well as to deal with staff, patients, families, carers, visitors, and members of the community. You will be required to provide administrative support to the clinical functions across the two acute inpatient units, including leave cover and day-to-day administrative support to ensure all administrative requirements are achieved that contribute to the timely and quality care of patients admitted to the acute psychiatry units. The role involves working predominantly evening shifts, including weekends.
