Administration and Recruitment Coordinator - UmpiringThe AFL is Australia's premier sporting organisation supporting two constantly evolving national competitions, AFL and AFLW. Our purpose is to progress the game, so everyone can share in its heritage and possibilities.
As the AFL/ AFLW competitions continue to grow and evolve at both the elite and community levels, we are focused on ensuring we attract and retain great people in both permanent and casual roles at all levels and within all areas of our industry.
The Administration and Recruitment Coordinator - Umpiring role is responsible for the ongoing coordination of umpiring department requirements in North-West Tasmania. The coordinator will support the AFL Tasmania Umpire Department (AFLTUD) with ongoing administrative, operational and logistical needs, including coordination of recruitment and retention programs developed by the AFLTUD to achieve umpire growth targets in North-West Tasmania.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Key Accountabilities: Coordinating effective delivery of umpire recruitment programs across the North-West including local schools, Women and Girls initiatives, junior umpire programs, Umpire education and talent pathways.Provide support to local Umpire coaches, entering umpire match day appointments into scheduling platforms as well as coordinating rescheduling unavailable umpires.Collaborate with local associations on key umpiring matters to ensure a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Coordinate payment of umpires in-season.Deliver on AFLTUD umpiring strategy in North-West Tasmania - focusing on growing umpiring.Providing support for the retention of umpires within the local market.Delivering other operational requirements in collaboration with AFL Tasmania staff and umpiring bodies.Support and contribute to key projects within and outside of core role.OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER Core Competencies: Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn and contribute innovative ideas.Engaging interpersonal skills with willingness to work collaboratively.Ability to work outside core business hours, including regional travel.Ability to work effectively unsupervised whilst a member of a team.A track record of managing multiple tasks and prioritising projects.Proficient problem-solving skills.Proficiency in use of computers and Microsoft applications.Mandatory: Experience in working with children and young people.Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.Tasmanian Driver's License.Current Working with Vulnerable Children Check.Desirable: Experience volunteering or working with volunteers.Sound knowledge of AFL or other relevant sporting environment.Strong computer literacy to support AFL program requirements.Qualifications in Sports Coaching / Management, Recreation, Education or equivalent experience.Applications Close: 20 December 2024
