Our game is for everyone, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.About The RoleThe Administration and Recruitment Coordinator – Umpiring role is responsible for the ongoing coordination of umpiring department requirements in North-West Tasmania.The coordinator will play a significant role in supporting the AFL Tasmania Umpire Department (AFLTUD) with ongoing administrative, operational and logistical needs. Including coordination of and delivering recruitment and retention programs developed by the AFLTUD to achieve, umpire growth targets in North-West Tasmania.The role is based in Ulverstone Tasmania and will focus on building strong relationships with the North-West Umpires association (NWUA), Umpire coaches, clubs and the wider community to support the rapid growth of AFL across Tasmania.A DAY IN THE LIFE OFKey AccountabilitiesCoordinating effective delivery of umpire recruitment programs across the North-West including, local schools, Women and Girls initiatives, junior umpire programs, Umpire education and talent pathways as a part of the broader umpire strategy across Tasmania.Provide support to local Umpire coaches, entering umpire match day appointments into scheduling platforms as well as coordinating rescheduling unavailable umpires.Collaborate and work closely with local associations on key umpiring matters to ensure culture of continuous learning and improvement of umpiring.Coordinate payment of umpires in-seasonDeliver on AFLTUD umpiring strategy in North-West Tasmania – with a focus on growing umpiring to new heightsProviding specific dedicated support for the retention of umpires within the local market – reward and recognition initiativesDelivering other operational requirements (not limited to apparel, equipment management & ground bookings) in collaboration with AFL Tasmania staff and umpiring bodies.Support and contribute to key projects within and outside of core role which contribute to the success of the broader teamOUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBERCore CompetenciesDemonstrated initiative and willingness to learn and contribute a variety of innovative ideas.Engaging interpersonal skills with the willingness to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes.Ability to work outside core business hours, inclusive of regional travel as required.Ability to work effectively unsupervised whilst a member of a team.A track record of managing multiple tasks and prioritising projects to ensure timely deliveryProficient problem-solving skillsProficiency in use of computers, document presentation and of Microsoft applicationsMandatoryExperience in working with children and young peopleWell-developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skillsTasmanian Driver's LicenseCurrent Working with Vulnerable Children CheckDesirableExperience volunteering or working with volunteersSound knowledge of AFL or other relevant sporting environmentStrong computer literacy to support AFL program requirements in the regionQualifications Sports Coaching / Management, Recreation, Education or equivalent depth of experienceOUR CULTUREPlease visit www.afl.com.au/careers/our-organisationTHE PERKSPlay The Day Your Way – a flexible approach to your working lifeMy Development – lean into the AFL's My Development program consisting of on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, and formal learningPlay Well – access to our extensive Health and Wellbeing program centered around our belief in a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy workplaceMy Benefits – with thanks to our AFL Corporate Partners, access great benefits and discountsAFL Silver Memberships – permanent team members can access AFL matches at Marvel Stadium and the MCG, enjoy and share the experience of our game with your family and friends!Applications Close: 20 December 2024
