About The Facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
Located in The Douglas Hocking Research Institute of The University Hospital Geelong the Bone Densitometry Department provides a specialised scanning service to over 7,000 patients per annum. The provision of a quality service with a strong customer focus ensures the Department is the leading bone density service in the Barwon and southwest region.
About The Role
As an effective member in a busy team environment, the Receptionist/Administration Officer is responsible for providing confidential administrative support to the Bone Density Department.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment to all patients and visitors
Answering the telephone to address queries and schedule appointments
Greeting patients at reception and registering patient details
Raising accounts in accordance with Medicare criteria and billing patients accordingly
Receiving payments – cash/EFTPOS
End-of-day banking
Preparation of files and patient lists for daily clinics
Distribution of patient results
Liaising with patients, hospital staff, GPs and Specialists
Excellent computer skills, the ability to organise and adapt to changing demands, exceptional communication skills along with an empathetic disposition towards patients are essential requirements if you wish to excel in this role.
