Your Role
Mission Aircrew By joining the Royal Australian Air Force as a Mission Aircrew member, you'll be part of a highly skilled team focused on aviation and decision-making. You'll receive training to become a world-class leader, manager, and decision-maker, operating advanced aircraft and systems.
The Mission role consists of five key positions : Air Battle Manager : Command airspace above airfields and battlefields using quick thinking and decision-making skills.
Air Mobility Officer : Operate airborne surveillance and logistical systems during air battles.
Air Traffic Controller : Take command of the skies in challenging battlefield environments.
Maritime Patrol and Response Officer : Operate advanced airborne electronic systems.
Weapon Systems Officer : Operate sophisticated airborne electronic and weapon systems.
Career Specialisation Mission is part of the Officer Aviation career specialisation, which includes air and ground-based aviation roles within two pathways : Mission and Pilot. Your chosen role will depend on your performance, position availability, and job preference.
